The John 3:16 Center
Empowering Families, Transforming Communities

The John 3:16 Center is a beacon of hope in Halifax, Warren, and Northampton counties. Founded on Christian principles, we’re dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty and trauma through education, support, and community collaboration.
Our programs empower families, nurture children, and foster a safe, faith-based environment where lives are transformed and God’s love is shared. We offer summer camps, afterschool programs, parenting support, and emergency assistance to those in need.
Our Mission
Guided by our Christian faith, we address the impact of poverty and trauma on families with children through advocacy, education, empowerment, and community collaboration. Our mission is to create lasting change by providing resources, mentorship, and support that lead to independence and stability.
Our Vision
We envision a safe community free of poverty and trauma, where Christ’s love is shared, families are supported, and children are encouraged to live out God’s purpose for their lives. Our goal is to build a future where every family thrives and every child reaches their full potential.
Our Story
How We Got Started
C.A.R.E. (Child Abuse Resource and Education) was founded in 1998 as an interdenominational Christian organization dedicated to preserving families through education and support. Initially operating from the founder’s home, the organization grew steadily, expanding its services to meet community needs.
Where We Are Now
Today, the John 3:16 Center, built in 2004, serves as our primary facility. Located on 7.25 acres in Littleton, it has become a central resource for families in Halifax, Warren, and Northampton counties. Our programs have expanded to include summer camps, parenting classes, food pantries, and more, touching the lives of hundreds of families annually.
