Empowering Our Community
Through Long-term Change
At the John 3:16 Center, we offer structured programs that create lasting impact for individuals and families in Halifax, Warren, and Northampton counties. Guided by our Christian faith, we focus on youth development, education, family support, and seasonal outreach to help break the cycle of poverty and trauma. Our programs provide the tools, skills, and support needed for sustainable transformation in our community.
Whether you’re looking to participate in a program or support our mission, we’re here to help.

Our educational offerings range from 20 minute overviews to comprehensive 8 hour in-depth training sessions, all designed to help build resilient families and communities through trauma-informed education and support. These trainings are available to all community organizations, businesses, faith groups, and interested individuals.
Bringing the Protective Factors Framework to Life in Your Work
This training focuses on prevention strategies that strengthen families and reduce the incidence of child maltreatment. Participants learn to implement five protective factors: increasing parental resilience, building social connections, enhancing knowledge of parenting and child development, providing concrete support in times of need, and developing social & emotional competence of children. Led by our certified trainers, this framework offers practical approaches to family support.
